Four unique places to find wedding inspiration outside of the wedding world

Where to Find Wedding Inspiration | Destination Wedding Photographer

Planning a wedding takes a lot of energy and time. And finding your wedding style and gaining inspiration can be challenging in the sea of never-ending ideas on Pinterest, Instagram, and wedding blogs. So where can you find wedding inspiration that’s truly unique and that suits your style?

Today, I’m sharing four places you can find wedding inspiration outside of the wedding world. So close that Pinterest tab in your browser and let’s begin…

      01. Art Museums

Visit the art museum nearest to you that’s home to a large collection of works. Browse the galleries and take note of what styles, eras, and art movements you like the most. Then pick up a coffee table book on that art style in the museum gift shop and let it guide you as you start to plan your wedding.

Don’t have an art museum nearby? Take virtual museum tours on Google Arts & Culture.

      02. Travel

Do you have a favorite place you’ve traveled to together? Or is there a destination you’re particularly drawn to? Pull out photos from that trip or purchase a coffee table book about that location. Take note of the colors, textures, and architectural elements that are unique to that destination. Use these elements as inspiration and tie in the unique aesthetic of that place.

For couples planning destination weddings, you can seek inspiration from your chosen wedding location. It will create an all-around more immersive and unique experience for you and your guests.

      03. Nature

Take inspiration from elements of nature that are significant to you or to your love story. The ocean, flowers, trees, fruits such as lemons and olives can all be incorporated into wedding design in a timeless, elegant, and meaningful way.

      04. Things that are uniquely you

What’s unique to your love story as a couple? Do you have a place that’s signifiant in your story, perhaps where you met or got engaged? Do you share a favorite hobby or interest? Sit down together as a couple and make a list of things or places you both love. Then brainstorm how these things can breathe inspiration into your wedding design. No matter how “out there” the ideas may seem, when they act as a starting place for inspiration, they can help create a truly one-of-a-kind design for your day.

      Bonus Tip:

Additionally, if planning and styling your wedding seems daunting to you, I highly recommend couples consider hiring a wedding planner or designer. Planners can take your ideas and translate them into a seamless, elegant wedding design.
