Romantic and ethereal lavender field wedding portraits in Provence, France
After exchanging vows at nearby Airelles Bastide de Gordes, we captured Ellie and Jack’s romantic lavender field wedding portraits in the golden light of sunset. Ethereal and soft, these portraits capture Ellie and Jack’s sweet love in one of the world’s most beautiful locations. The lavender fields of Provence are world-renowned. Every June and July, travelers come from near and far to enjoy the aromatic rows of blooming lavender. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience—especially when you’re there to celebrate your wedding. I cannot think of a destination more magical than this for wedding portraits.
We spent about an hour in the lavender field. We were even lucky enough to have it to ourselves. (Perks of location scouting!) Then, as the sun slipped behind the hills, we headed back to Bastide de Gordes. On the way, we spotted at the iconic viewpoint to get a few shots in front of the beloved hillside village of Gordes. We arrived back in time for Ellie and Jack to enjoy dinner at L’Orangerie.
All-in-all, it was a magical day in Provence for Ellie and Jack, and they had these words to say about their destination experience:
