An elegant summer love story session in Provence, France
Provence in the South of France is known around the world as the home to the most beautiful lavender fields. Blooming from mid-June to mid-July, the fields are truly a sight to savor. Seemingly endless rows blend into the hazy sky of the horizon. Although packed with tourist (I really had to be strategic about not getting any of them in these shots!), Provence’s lavender fields are well-worth a visit.
For this shoot, Claire of Maison Bounon and I really wanted to capture the beauty of these fields at sunset. We were on a tight timeline, and had to drive 45 minutes from Aix-en-Provence to catch this beautiful, buttery light in Valensole, but I’m so glad we did!
Anne and James are such a lovely couple, and they bring out the joy and light in each other. Anne’s blouse and skirt by Cleophina were a perfect addition of elegance and whimsy. After roaming the fields until the sun disappeared, we ended the night with a glass of Provencal Rosé—because, of course!
